DJ JASON MARTIN    (RESIDENT DJ)

With over 30 years’ experience as a DJ, DJ Jason truly digs the tough demands of the dance music scene. After all, he is one of the DJs who holds the record for the longest nonstop livestream of 228 hours in the Malaysia Book of Records. He cut his teeth as a breakout DJ in the legendary Piccadilly Club in the early 90s and has held residencies at popular joints like the Connection Underground, Liquid, and Planet Hollywood. Known for his flair for mixing and producing retro tunes, DJ Jason has been thrilling partygoers with 70s and 80s hits, from rock and new wave to synth-pop. He has also played alongside renowned international DJs like Pete Doyle, Chris Coo, Maurice Ryan, and DJ Sawa.

DJ BERNIE    (RESIDENT DJ)

Calling DJ Bernie an industry veteran is an understatement. DJ Bernie has been spinning professionally since 1988. He was a pioneer of the DJ scene who experimented with blending elements of house music and soulful garage, setting the foundation for the modern Kuala Lumpur club and dance culture. His past DJ residencies include stints at old-time favourites like 11LA, Brannigans, and DV8 and contemporary nightspots like Vertigo, Mantra, and Pisco. His strong roots in funk, new wave, rock, soul, R&B, and hip hop guarantees an eclectic musical journey for dance music lovers.

DJ JAZZIEJAY    (RESIDENT DJ)

A household name in the KL clubbing scene, DJ JazzieJay is known within the DJ fraternity as the “man who has seen it all and done it all.” Prolific since 1987, he has played numerous gigs and held residencies at the Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and Jakarta outlets of the international entertainment chain Hard Rock Cafe. Besides founding Retro Sunsplash, the original charity retro party, he also contributed to 2 Malaysian Book of Records by getting 126 Malaysian DJs into it. In the course of his 35-year career, DJ JazzieJay has collaborated and/or played alongside renowned DJs and music producers like Paul Oakenfold, Josh Winks, and Jo Mills.

DJ FRANCIS K.    (RESIDENT DJ)

Known for his curated tracks and club remixes that pay tribute to retro music, DJ Francis K. started rocking the dance floor in 1988, where he held his first residency at Millennium Discotheque Holiday Inn in Johor Bahru. The veteran DJ’s forte lies in music from the ‘60s to ‘80s, House, R&B and Soul. One of the pioneers that started the rave/acid scene in Kuala Lumpur during the ‘90s, DJ Francis K. has held residencies at popular retro joints like Voodoo, Betelnut Pub and Faces 1990 in Kuala Lumpur, Shock! Novotel in Penang, and Queen Bee in Vietnam.

SHAGIES – HASHIM | OLYNN | YANEE | TOMROSS | DAFFY | WANN    (ENGLISH BAND)

Dynamic, versatile and entertaining. These words sum up Shagies, a six-piece cover band that has been on the go since 1987. A crowd favourite, Shagies serves up a mix of dance, Latin, pop and rock tunes from the retro to contemporary eras. Think popular hits from the ’80s: “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Dancing Queen,” “Under Pressure,” “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us”; that get the audience grooving. A runner-up at the 1986 Yamaha band competition, Shagies began playing gigs at nightspots like Europa and NCO Club. The band had shared the stage with international artists like Bon Jovi, Rick Price, Jimmy Barnes and Andy Lau. Shagies’s TV appearances included shows like Asian Television Awards (2000), Anita Sarawak’s Speak of the Diva (2001) and the award-winning SURIA channel drama Selagi Ada Kasih. Three decades and counting, Shagies is still at the top of their game.
